During the final few days of this summers (2015) Tour de France, the race will have 3 days within a days bike ride of Le Bourg d’Oisans. For those wishing to witness the race first hand over these three days, there is a choice of famous col or mountain passes within a days ride of Le Bourg d’Oisans, such as the col de la Morte, Col du Glandon, Col du La Croix du Fer, Col du Galibier and of course the Alpe d’Huez.

Bike hotels and accommodation are always difficult to find at this late stage, but here are BikeLodging, we have compiled  list of some great available places.

La Danchere Lodge – (4 nights minimum) A great value option in a charming hotel at the entrance to the Ecrins National Park. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a public bar, which are one of the nicest places to relax in the area after a big ride. Half-board for €79 per person per night.

Chalet Cycle Venosc – A short ride from Bourg d’Oisans

Chalet Cycling Venosc – (2 rooms available 5 nights minimum) Exclusive chalet at an affordable price. 5 bedroom chalet with stunning views across the Ecrins National park, within walking distance of the picturesque hamlet of Venosc. It is run by a couple with great knowledge of the area including a professional chef. Bedrooms are very modern and stylish, all with en-suite bathrooms as are all the communal rooms in the chalet. It features a large well stocked and secure bike storage shed, hot tub, sauna, games room, cinema room, wood burning stove, UK Sky TV and free wifi through out. Half-board for €89 per person per night.

Vaujany -Catered Chalet – Located in one of the most desirable and picturesque villages linked to the Alpe d’Huez lift system, this modern and stylish chalet, with hot tub and games room is popular with both cyclists and mountain bikers. The location is ideal for day trips to the Glandon and Croix du Fer as well as the Alpe d’Huez.

Ecrins Self-Catered Chalet – A brand new 6 bedroom sleeps 14 chalet (2013) built and decorated to a very high standard is located in the picturesque hamlet of La Danchere at the entrance to the Ecrins National Park. Weekly self-catered rental for around €2000.

available again. Comfortable double or twin beds. Sofa bed. Modern separate bathroom with extremely good shower. Kitchinette, table and chairs. UK Freeview Television with DVD player. The studio also has access to a secure bike shed and workshop. Use of the laundry is available for a small fee. Available 20th – 26th July 6 nights €450

Apartment Les Cristallieres – 2 bedroom (+ mezzanine sleeps 7) apartment in the centre of the beautiful mediaeval village of Venosc. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and the second has 2 sets of bunks. The mezzanine has a further single bed. It has a very light open plan living room with dinning and kitchen, plus secure storage for bikes and skis. 7 nights self-catering for €850.

3 bedroom apartment central Bourg d’Oisans – 3 bedroom apartment sleeps 6 right in central Bourg d’Oisans. 1 double room and 2 twin rooms. 7 nights self-catering for €1450

Satge 18 on Thursday 23rd July from Gap to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne 186.5km passes over the Col de La Morte and then through Allemont before heading over the Col du Glandon and down into the Maurienne valley.

Stage 19 on Friday 24th July from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to La Toussuire 138km passes over the Col de la Croix du Fer

Stage 20 on Saturday 25th July starts in Modane and ends up the iconic 21 bends of Alpe d’Huez.
